Greyson: 12 months

Our sweet baby turned one in May! He is so much fun right now! I feel like this first birthday is such a milestone for all of us. We have been so blessed to have Greyson in our family. He is constantly making us smile and laugh, even at such a young age he has an amazing personality. I sure love this age.  I love watching my baby boy learn and grow. He is such a smart boy. He understands so much of what we say and has quite a few words that he says already. A few words he are Daddy, binky, bottle, ball, catch, hi, hold you, and I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting! He is also getting(staying) so big! His 12 month stats:

Weight:
Height:
Head:

Greyson loves to run around with Asher, he loves to play peek a boo, he loves Daddy and Mommy, he loves to eat, he loves balls, especially throwing and chasing them around the house. He's super social and carefree. He loves playing in the water, especially the splash pad. He'll run right into the water screaming and laughing and will stay in there longer than any of the other kids. He doesn't even mind that the water is freezing. He is totally fearless. He is fun loving and is almost always happy and smiling. He's also very independent and would rather be running around than being held. He's also very sweet though and will happily give cuddles. Everyday when Tim gets home from work Grey runs straight to the door and gives him a huge smile and hug.

We celebrated his birthday by opening gifts with our little family first thing in the morning, and then an extended family party in the afternoon. He is lucky to have so many people who love him! We were worried we would have to cancel his party because Greyson, Asher and I all had hand, foot and mouth disease just before his birthday. Luckily, his rash was gone just in time and we had such a fun day with him! He loved opening his presents and tearing the wrapping paper off. Unfortunately, he hated the cake. He ate a few bites, then wiped it all over his face and hair and then cried. It wasn't exactly we expected from a baby who loves eating!

A couple of weeks later we were able to celebrate with my Dad and Leslie and Mathis, Keaton and Ryan. Leslie made Greyson the cutest giraffe cake!

Greyson: 11 months

Our cute Greyson! 11 months already! He has been so much fun this month. He is walking all around like a pro! He sure picked up on walking quickly, it didn't take long for him to master it! He loves being able to walk around. He has always wanted to be independent and explore so it's no surprise that he gets happier as he gets more mobile.

He has also turned into a great eater this month. All of a sudden he loves finger foods and will happily eat whatever we give him. He has especially liked strawberries, bananas and toast. He's always trying to walk around the table and steal food from everyone else once he is finished with his. He has pulled Asher's entire plate off of the table more than once while trying to get his food. He also does great with a sippy cup and still loves his bottles.

Unfortunately, Greyson, along with Asher, has been getting sick a lot lately and catching just about everything going around. He has gone through colds, pink eye and the stomach flu just this month. Hopefully the warmer weather will help keep them a bit healthier!

Greyson will repeat words here and there and even just said his first word, "catch". He's been repeating it for about 2 weeks and then said it on his own while playing with a ball the other day. We love watching out cute boy learn and grow!

Greyson: 10 months

Our cute boy is 10 months old! Hard to believe he is so close to his birthday! It seems like he has changed so much this month. He is starting to turn into a toddler and less of a baby. He is happy and fun loving and is making us laugh all the time.

The most exciting news, Greyson took his first steps! I guess this should technically go in next months post, since it happened the day after he turned 10 months old. He has been pulling up and walking around the furniture for a while so we had been waiting for it to happen anytime now. He was so excited for himself that he squealed and clapped and then fell over. It's fun to watch him try to hard to get up and take a few steps now. He also has gotten really good at walking with his walker. He can turn around, go backwards, turn corners, and get just about anywhere he wants to go with it. I'm sure he'll be walking around the house like a pro in no time! He has also gotten to the stage of emptying all of the cupboards and getting into anything he can. Luckily, the house is already pretty baby proof and we can let him explore quite a bit. He's pretty independent, he actually always has been. He loves to get down and move around no matter where we are.

Unfortunately, Greyson has not been a great eater lately. He sure loves his bottles, but hates baby food. He actually has never liked it very much but has never liked to feed himself much either. It makes for some stressful meal times but hopefully it's just a phase that will pass once he's more comfortable with finger foods.

Greyson loves to play with balls and will chase them around endlessly. He loves to throw giant bouncy balls around the kitchen and chase after them and do it all over again. He also loves cars and will drive them around even. He loves to be tickled, and thrown up into the air. And just like Asher, he loves to be chased. He will climb to the landing halfway up the stairs and wait there for us to come get him, as soon as he sees us he will squeal and start climbing away from us.

It's so fun to watch him grow and learn. We love our happy boy!

Here's a few phone pics of our cute boy from this month.

Greyson: 9 months

Can I just stop time? Just for little while? My baby is growing up way too fast. 9 months already?! Greyson is so much fun right now and such a happy boy. Since he has become mobile he loves to explore and is super independent. He loves to just crawl around and find new things to play with. And much to my dismay, he especially loves the stairs. He's pretty funny about it. He will climb up a stair or two and as soon as we start to walk towards him he laughs and squeals and starts climbing faster. He knows we are going to pick him up and tries to run away! Such a little tease already. He also walks at his walker like a pro now and has been doing it for a few weeks. Sometimes while standing at the furniture or one of us he will let go and try to stand on his own. It won't be long before he's mastered it!

I took him to his 9 month check up a few days ago and it went great. Yay for no shots! I always thought Asher was big as a baby. Apparently I had no idea what that meant because somehow, Greyson is even bigger. He is actually even at the height limit for his infant carseat and is ready to move to a convertible seat already. We have ourselves one tall boy! People are always surprised to hear he is only 9 months old. He looks like a one year old.

Here are his 9 month stats:
Weight: 21.38 lbs, 65th percentile
Height: 30.31 inches, 96th percentile
Head: 18.1 inches, 71st percentile

He is sleeping through the night consistently now, which has been wonderful. Although I do miss his sweet sleepy cuddles. He is also putting himself to sleep at bedtime now. I still rock him to sleep for naps. I could probably let him go to sleep on his own for those too but a part of me just isn't ready yet. I feel like it's the last of those sweet baby cuddles I will get and I don't want to give it up!

Some things that he loves are tickles, cheerios, apple sauce, pat-a-cake, peekaboo, bathtime, Asher, and even Mickey Mouse already! And we sure love him to pieces!

Super Asher

Asher says the most adorable, hilarious things every single day. A few days ago while sitting on a bar stool at the kitchen island, he told me he couldn't get down from the stool. He actually can easily climb up and down all on his own. Anyway, he said to me "Mom, I can't get down. I need a ladder." I told him "Sorry, we don't have a ladder". He didn't respond right away. After thinking for a moment though he replied, "I'll just get my super powers!" He then hopped right down with no trouble at all and was off to play. Tim and I both laughed. Such a funny boy!

Greyson 8 months

We love that our cute boy is growing and getting so big! He is completely mobile now, and all over the place! He is already even pulling up on everything and crawling up the stairs. He has become mobile way too fast! He sure loves it though and wiggles out of our arms whenever we try to hold him. He follows us around the house and loves to explore. He has also started to babble and is getting pretty chatty now. He also has started making this funny growling sound that he does all the time.

He has been back and forth on sleeping through the night but overall is a pretty good sleeper these days. He takes a nap in the morning and another nap in the afternoon at the same time as Asher, which makes me feel pretty lucky :)

He and Asher are constantly crawling on each other and rolling around together. It's pretty cute. Asher loves to give Greyson hugs. Greyson will smile and laugh every time. I'm sure they are going to be best buds.

I took him to another eye appointment recently to have his droopy eyelid checked. The opening of each eye is still measuring about the same since the first time we took him in at 2 months old. The good news is it's not getting any worse, and though he does have astigmatism in both eyes, his vision seems to be developing the way it should be. The bad news is it's not getting any better. If this  pattern continues there will be a good chance that he will end up with surgery around the time he's 4 to raise his eyelid but we are grateful that it's not affecting his vision and we have time to wait until he's older to correct the ptosis.

We love our happy boy!
