Our cute boy is 10 months old! Hard to believe he is so close to his birthday! It seems like he has changed so much this month. He is starting to turn into a toddler and less of a baby. He is happy and fun loving and is making us laugh all the time.
The most exciting news, Greyson took his first steps! I guess this should technically go in next months post, since it happened the day after he turned 10 months old. He has been pulling up and walking around the furniture for a while so we had been waiting for it to happen anytime now. He was so excited for himself that he squealed and clapped and then fell over. It's fun to watch him try to hard to get up and take a few steps now. He also has gotten really good at walking with his walker. He can turn around, go backwards, turn corners, and get just about anywhere he wants to go with it. I'm sure he'll be walking around the house like a pro in no time! He has also gotten to the stage of emptying all of the cupboards and getting into anything he can. Luckily, the house is already pretty baby proof and we can let him explore quite a bit. He's pretty independent, he actually always has been. He loves to get down and move around no matter where we are.
Unfortunately, Greyson has not been a great eater lately. He sure loves his bottles, but hates baby food. He actually has never liked it very much but has never liked to feed himself much either. It makes for some stressful meal times but hopefully it's just a phase that will pass once he's more comfortable with finger foods.
Greyson loves to play with balls and will chase them around endlessly. He loves to throw giant bouncy balls around the kitchen and chase after them and do it all over again. He also loves cars and will drive them around even. He loves to be tickled, and thrown up into the air. And just like Asher, he loves to be chased. He will climb to the landing halfway up the stairs and wait there for us to come get him, as soon as he sees us he will squeal and start climbing away from us.
It's so fun to watch him grow and learn. We love our happy boy!
Here's a few phone pics of our cute boy from this month.

Greyson: 9 months
Can I just stop time? Just for little while? My baby is growing up way too fast. 9 months already?! Greyson is so much fun right now and such a happy boy. Since he has become mobile he loves to explore and is super independent. He loves to just crawl around and find new things to play with. And much to my dismay, he especially loves the stairs. He's pretty funny about it. He will climb up a stair or two and as soon as we start to walk towards him he laughs and squeals and starts climbing faster. He knows we are going to pick him up and tries to run away! Such a little tease already. He also walks at his walker like a pro now and has been doing it for a few weeks. Sometimes while standing at the furniture or one of us he will let go and try to stand on his own. It won't be long before he's mastered it!
I took him to his 9 month check up a few days ago and it went great. Yay for no shots! I always thought Asher was big as a baby. Apparently I had no idea what that meant because somehow, Greyson is even bigger. He is actually even at the height limit for his infant carseat and is ready to move to a convertible seat already. We have ourselves one tall boy! People are always surprised to hear he is only 9 months old. He looks like a one year old.
Here are his 9 month stats:
Weight: 21.38 lbs, 65th percentile
Height: 30.31 inches, 96th percentile
Head: 18.1 inches, 71st percentile
He is sleeping through the night consistently now, which has been wonderful. Although I do miss his sweet sleepy cuddles. He is also putting himself to sleep at bedtime now. I still rock him to sleep for naps. I could probably let him go to sleep on his own for those too but a part of me just isn't ready yet. I feel like it's the last of those sweet baby cuddles I will get and I don't want to give it up!
Some things that he loves are tickles, cheerios, apple sauce, pat-a-cake, peekaboo, bathtime, Asher, and even Mickey Mouse already! And we sure love him to pieces!

Super Asher
Asher says the most adorable, hilarious things every single day. A few days ago while sitting on a bar stool at the kitchen island, he told me he couldn't get down from the stool. He actually can easily climb up and down all on his own. Anyway, he said to me "Mom, I can't get down. I need a ladder." I told him "Sorry, we don't have a ladder". He didn't respond right away. After thinking for a moment though he replied, "I'll just get my super powers!" He then hopped right down with no trouble at all and was off to play. Tim and I both laughed. Such a funny boy!

Greyson 8 months
We love that our cute boy is growing and getting so big! He is completely mobile now, and all over the place! He is already even pulling up on everything and crawling up the stairs. He has become mobile way too fast! He sure loves it though and wiggles out of our arms whenever we try to hold him. He follows us around the house and loves to explore. He has also started to babble and is getting pretty chatty now. He also has started making this funny growling sound that he does all the time.
He has been back and forth on sleeping through the night but overall is a pretty good sleeper these days. He takes a nap in the morning and another nap in the afternoon at the same time as Asher, which makes me feel pretty lucky :)
He and Asher are constantly crawling on each other and rolling around together. It's pretty cute. Asher loves to give Greyson hugs. Greyson will smile and laugh every time. I'm sure they are going to be best buds.
I took him to another eye appointment recently to have his droopy eyelid checked. The opening of each eye is still measuring about the same since the first time we took him in at 2 months old. The good news is it's not getting any worse, and though he does have astigmatism in both eyes, his vision seems to be developing the way it should be. The bad news is it's not getting any better. If this pattern continues there will be a good chance that he will end up with surgery around the time he's 4 to raise his eyelid but we are grateful that it's not affecting his vision and we have time to wait until he's older to correct the ptosis.

Greyson: 7 months
What a fun month it has been with our sweet boy! Grey is growing way too fast, and getting cuter and cuter all the time. He already has such a sweet little personality. He is also getting to be so curious. He army crawls all over the place to get to what he wants, and he's pretty fast too!
Up until about 2 days ago I was ready to officially announce that we now have a baby that sleeps through the night. He slept from about 7:30-6:30 every night for about a week, but has woken up the last couple of nights. I'm hoping this means the end of night wakings are in sight, at least. Honestly though, part of me will miss them a little bit. I feel like it's such a special time to spend with him. His sleepy cuddles melt my heart :)
Greyson has 2 teeth now! They cut through one right after another. It made for a couple of semi-rough days but once they were out he was back to his happy self. He already seems to be working on the next one though. He is constantly chewing on anything and everything. He is eating a variety of solid foods and does great with them. He can also hold his bottle by himself now.
We love seeing this cute boy of ours growing and changing and can't wait to see more of his personality develop!

Greyson: 6 Months
Our cute boy is getting so big! He is changing so much all the time and getting so big! He is so happy these days. He smiles and giggles at just about anything. It feels like all of a sudden he's not a newborn anymore!
Here are his 6 month stats:
Weight: 18.63 lbs, 71st percentile

Height: 27.95 inches, 92nd percentile

He's still a big boy! I swear he's almost the size of Asher! Not really, but I really don't think it will be long until he's close. Asher tries to pick him up all the time but Grey is just too heavy for him. He's heavy for me too, though :) He is doing well and is a healthy boy. I can't remember if I have posted about his eyelid before... He has ptosis in his left eyelid which basically just means he has a droopy eyelid. We have taken him to a pediatric eye doctor a couple of times to make sure his vision isn't compromised. We pretty much just have to watch it and make sure it doesn't cover his pupil. If it starts to then they will do a corrective surgery so that his vision doesn't stop developing. Otherwise he wait to see if it will correct itself as his face develops and grows. If not, he will most likely have surgery around the time that he's five or so to correct it. We are really hoping it will correct itself and he can avoid surgery altogether. The good news is it has not gotten worse so far and even though it has been about the same the last couple of months, it has improved a lot since he was born.
Greyson has started moving all over the place. He's rolling and scooting all around. He can pretty much get anywhere he wants to go. For a few weeks now he has been getting up on his hands and knees and rocking. He seems too little to crawl still but I think it will definitely happen sooner than later. He has always been wiggly and has never been content to sit still for too long. Now that he is getting mobile he's much happier to play on the floor, which makes life easier for all of us! Oh, and he can find and put his binky in his mouth all by himself. I feel like that's a big milestone for babies who love binkys!

He is sleeping much better these days than he has been the past couple of months. He sleeps through the night most nights, at least until 5 or so and just wakes for a bottle. Other nights he may wake up once to quickly eat and then is back to sleep in no time. He has also started to nap a little better. He usually takes a short nap or two in the morning and then takes a long nap in the afternoon the same time as Asher. He makes me so proud when he sleeps well since it has been such a roller coaster!
We started solids this month and so far he has had zucchini, squash and apple sauce. He has liked them all so far but really does NOT like rice cereal. What baby doesn't like rice cereal? Weird. So we just stick with baby oatmeal instead.
Greyson is such a sweet little spirit! I can already tell he is going to be sweet. He loves cuddles from Mommy and Daddy and he sure loves Asher. He loves to scoot over to Asher and see what he's doing and they are always making each other laugh. We sure have been blessed with these 2 sweet boys!
